The Way of the Mother

The Way of the Mother

The Way of the Mother is a biblical journey of motherhood in partnership with God. This way will be updated as the Holy Spirit continues to reveal different mother personalities in the bible.

A multi-dimensional portrait of biblical motherhood, revealing how God shapes a woman’s character, faith, influence, and legacy through every season of life.

🌹 The Hem Mother – The Rose – Luke 8:47 (Her Heart, LFTH) She lives from a daily encounter with Jesus, drawing strength from the hem of His garment as she lies at His feet. She is sustained by closeness to Him, not her own striving. Letters From The Hem (LFTH), a motherhood letter ministry, reflects a life sustained by closeness to Jesus like Mary at His feet.

🫒 The Rooted Mother – The Olive Tree – Psalm 84 (Her Body) She is continually nourished with oil and living water by the streams. She dwells in the presence of God and is steady, unshaken, and planted in Him.

🪹 The Nest Mother – The Nest – Proverbs 31 (Her Homemaking) She builds faithfully in the everyday rhythms of life. Her home becomes a place of safety, formation, and wisdom, shaped with quiet intention. The Nest Home reflects steady, faithful daily craftsmanship. She prepares her home intentionally for snow. And her home is clothed in warmth.

🌻 The Legacy Mother – The Sunflower – Titus 2 (Her Children, LIHfC) She pours into her children and strengthens generations. She teaches, gives wise counsel, and raises those who turn their faces toward the Lighthouse.

🌴 The Serving Mother – The Baobab – 1 Timothy 5:10 (Her Hands) Her life is marked by steady, faithful service. She nurtures her children, opens her home with hospitality, and lifts those who are burdened or hurting.

🌿 The Praying Mother – The Eucalyptus – 1 Samuel 1 & 2 (Her Knees) She continually returns to prayer. In every season, her steps lead her back to God in sorrow and in joy. She brings everything before Him and is strengthened, renewed, and sustained by His presence.

🏺The Interceding Mother – The Vessel – 2 Kings 4 (Her Finance) She steps in for her children in times of lack and threat. She goes to God through the prophet, bringing their needs before Him. She pleads on their behalf and stands in the gap with faith and urgency. She does not remain silent in crisis. She becomes a vessel God fills, and what He pours into her provides for their present and secures their future. She trusts Him to fill what is lacking, providing for the present and securing their future through His faithful provision.

🌼The Household Manager Mother – The Dandelion – (Her Feet) 1 Timothy 5:14 She faithfully cultivates the home God has entrusted to her, creating an environment where others can grow and thrive. She moves with attentive care to the needs around her, stepping into gaps and tending what is overlooked. Her presence may seem sudden or ordinary, but it is always timely and necessary, bringing stability and life to the spaces she touches. Like the dandelion that restores and enriches the soil, she nurtures her household through wise stewardship, provision, and care. Her quiet faithfulness strengthens the foundations of family life. She reflects a life where faithful stewardship flows from daily dependence on Jesus.

🌴 The Evergreen Mother – Palm Tree- Jeremiah 17:8 – She is rooted in God, flourishing through every season, and faithfully bearing fruit regardless of the conditions around her
