Humans need Water

Humans need water for many of the same reasons trees do. It keeps every part of our bodies alive and working properly. This post is a part series on “Being Planted by the Streams / Being Rooted.” Here’s how humans need water for life:

  1. Hydration & Body Temperature
    • Water keeps your body cool by helping you sweat and regulate heat.
    • It also keeps your mouth, eyes, and skin moist.
  2. Digestion & Nutrient Absorption
    • Water helps break down food and carry nutrients to every cell in your body.
    • Without enough water, digestion slows down and you can feel tired or bloated.
  3. Detox & Waste Removal
    • Your kidneys use water to flush out toxins and waste through urine.
    • It also helps prevent constipation by softening stool.
  4. Circulation & Oxygen Transport
    • Blood is mostly water. it carries oxygen and nutrients throughout your body.
    • When you’re dehydrated, your heart has to work harder.
  5. Cell Function & Energy
    • Every single cell in your body needs water to make energy and stay balanced.
    • Even mild dehydration can affect focus and mood.

Fun Fact:

Did you know that water exists throughout the body. Cells contain roughly 60% of all water in the body, with the rest existing in extracellular water, such as in the blood.

Most of the human body is water, with an average of roughly 60%.

Body partWater percentage

In conclusion:
