Hear me, Oh Dear Mothers!
Drawing from Priscilla Shirier’s Fervent book: Your Identity.
The Lord says:
Dear Mother,
You walk with your head down, weighed by fear of what’s to come. Not knowing what to do. But the Lord says no more! Raise up today, Mama.
Open your eyes and see.
Open your ears and hear.

Mother of Valor, God wants to remind you:
- Who you are
- Whose you are
- What you carry
Your identity in Christ has already been given. You only need to step into it.
Elisha prayed, “LORD, open his eyes that he may see. And the servant saw the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding them”. (2 Kings 6:17).
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
This is who we are because of who we know.
Raise up, Mothers. Let your light shine.
But God declares: Mothers, you are the light!
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden… let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14–16)
What is your light?
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms… In love He predestined us for adoption through Jesus Christ, to the praise of His glorious grace.” (Ephesians 1:3–6)
In Christ we have:
- Redemption and forgiveness (Ephesians 1:7)
- Wisdom and understanding (Ephesians 1:8–9)
- A divine inheritance (Ephesians 1:11–12)
- The seal of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13–14)
God is with us. He gives us:
• Purpose / Calling in God
• Wisdom
• Inheritance
• Power
• Greatness
• Life
• Riches
• A seat in Heaven
“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 2:6)
When we walk with and in God. Living righteously, we become the light, and we receive all His promises in good favor, in power, in faith and full force.
What Must We Do?
Step 1: Come to God
Walk with Him daily. Pray. Read His Word. Obey His commands. Live righteously. “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
Step 2: Repent
Turn away from sin. Lay down what hinders you.
Step 3: Surrender
Yield every part of your life to Him: your heart, your plans, your children, your marriage, your finance, your future.
Step 4: Tap into His Promises (Ephesians 1:15–17)
- Receive the Spirit of wisdom and revelation
- Be enlightened to know the hope of His calling
- Recognize the riches of His glorious inheritance
- Know the surpassing greatness of His power
- Realize you are seated with Christ in Heaven
Step 5: Ask God
Pray boldly. Ask Him to pour out His Spirit and fulfill His Word in your life.
Step 6: Continue in Him
Receive in faith. Rely on Him daily. Pray. Read His Word. Be renewed and transformed by His Spirit.
Open your eyes. Open your ears.
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 2:9–10)
We are sealed with the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:13)
“For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16)
“But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.” (Matthew 13:16)
“Ears that hear and eyes that see— the LORD has made them both.” (Proverbs 20:12)
May the Holy Spirit continue to minister to us. May God open your eyes and ears as you walk in your motherhood today.
Shalom, Following God’s Ways,
Natasha Chetty.
