How to be a faithful, flourishing mother planted in God’s presence.
Planted by the Streams of Living Water

To be planted by the streams of water means to be rooted in God.
“Deep-rooted” means firmly established, unshakable, difficult to move or uproot because it has grown strong over time. To be deeply rooted in God is to have a solid and firm foundation, one that stands through every season of life.
The Bible calls us to be like a tree — planted, nourished, and flourishing by streams of water. The next few reflections will center around this truth.
Steps to Be Planted by the Streams
- Trust God: even when you don’t understand.
- Hope in the Lord: anchor your heart in His promises.
- Believe in God: let faith steady your soul.
- Come to Him daily, all the time, in all seasons, just as you are.
- Make Him the center and foundation of your life and home.
- Delight in His Word: find joy in His truth.
- Meditate on His Word, day and night: spread your roots by the river.
- Gain instruction and guidance from the Holy Spirit: let Him lead your steps on motherhood.
When You Are Planted
When we follow these steps, the Lord satisfies every longing.
The God who sees you will call you His own.
You will not thirst again.
You will bear fruit in and out of season.
Your bones will be strengthened even in drought.
Your leaves will remain evergreen.
Your roots will run deep and firm.
And from your life will flow rivers of living water to refresh others.
For Mothers
As mothers, when we make God our foundation, we are planted by His living streams.
When the storms come as they surely will, we can stand tall through it all and still flourish.
Because our roots are not in the changing seasons of motherhood, but in the unchanging presence of God.
