According to the Bible, walking in your purpose as a Mama is a purpose-filled calling and your ministry. The Bible highlights your purpose as a mother.
Let’s start from the beginning; After Adam and Eve had sinned, God cursed them. But in that curse, there is a blessing.
- It is in God’s intended plan, will and purpose that women give birth to children.
In Genesis 3:16 and 3:20, God gave women the ability to bear children.
Even though the woman was formed from the rib of a man, it became the High Calling of a woman to give birth and bring life to the world. Women not only give birth but also raise and nurture that life. Without women, life in the world will not exist.
Eve, the woman was called “Mother of all Living”. During my Bible study, I changed the translations of this verse in verse 20. but they all said the same thing “Mother of all Living”. All life begins with a mother.
God made us in His plan for our lives as women specifically to be able to carry life within us. A walking figure, an epitome of life carrying life within. God intended for you to be their mother no matter how they came to be your children.
““I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”” Jeremiah 1:5 NLT
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” Psalms 139:13, 15-16 NLT
2. Renewal of your mind:
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may approve what the will of God is, that which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 LSB.
Do not look at what the world says about Motherhood. It is your responsibility as a Christian, God-called Purpose-filled Mother to look at motherhood through a different lens from the world and to mother your children differently. Ask God to lead you through the Holy Spirit.
3. Motherhood is a blessing. Your children are a gift from God and a blessing. God chose you to be a mother to your children. Your one-of-a-kind children are blessed to you a one of a one-of-a-kind mama.
“¶Behold, children are an inheritance of Yahweh, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.” Psalm 127:3-4 LSB
“He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother. Praise the Lord!” Psalms 113:9 NLT
“Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.” Proverbs 17:6 NLT
“Her children rise and bless her; As for her husband, he also praises her, saying:” Proverbs 31:28 LSB
