Oikonomia - Biblical Stewardship
Oikonomia is the Greek word for stewardship. It relates to managing or administering the household.
The world has tried to diminish the righteous purpose and calling of motherhood by downplaying its value, stripping it of purpose, and replacing it with something else.
Mothers have lost their value. The Lord has been taking me on a journey of purpose; He instructs me to “Teach them”, teach mothers, and bring them back to His calling of who He called us to be as mothers, as keepers- stewards of what He has blessed us with.
From overwhelmed mothers to faithful stewards:
At Natural Nest, we believe motherhood is not about doing everything alone; it is not about perfection, burnout and struggling through it.
It is about faithfully stewarding what God has given us, we practice stewardship in almost everything in our lives.
Because what we have is not ours in the first place, but God’s. Our finances, our bodies, the air we breathe, good health, our children, a roof over our heads, what we eat, how we move around.
“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” James 1:17
And He gives it to us first as His children and as a gift. He expects us to care for.
“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
Oikonomia is the biblical foundation that shapes how we approach motherhood, homemaking, personal growth, practical skills and generational legacy.
We invite mothers to slow down, mother intentionally and presently. We seek God’s wisdom, being directed by the Holy Spirit. Through Scripture, prayer, and motherhood systems and frameworks, we mother differently in a world that calls us to do differently.
Oikonomia is our breathing space. That we are called to such a time as this.
